The Break o' dawn...

It is 4 am and I have been waiting to get up for a couple of hours! Today I feel like a kid at Christmas. I am going down to Queens Bath to shoot the sunrise.
The sea has been  building for the last two days, big swells coming in and making a washing machine of our usually calm rock pool. The water looks like whipped cream it is so frothy and white. I have been watching daredevils cling to the rocks and get battered by the small tidal waves. I opt for the gentler version and stick to the little pools and dry rocks. Still, this morning I feel intrepid, I am fulfilling a promise to myself. Sunrise, a little meditation on the rocks, an early morning ocean swim and of course photographs.

This trip to Kauai has been perfect, and I still have another glorious week ahead. We are in a house  on the edge of a bluff overlooking the ocean, it is sunrises and sunsets galore. To our right there is a Shearwater nesting area, all night we can hear them calling and see them flying, I am determined to befriend one of these gentle creatures.

The weather has been all things, huge winds, rain, sunshine, tropical storms, huge swells, total calm, and we have danced and sung our way through every trip. Kauai is putting on a great show.

It is 5.30 and I think I should head down to the ocean and find a good spot to see the sun come up. More Later.....
